About Us

The Highlands East Culture & Heritage Project

A collaboration of The Wilberforce Heritage Guild, the Schoolhouse Historical Society, the Gooderham Historic Group, Bark Lake Cultural Developments, and you!

This website features cultural and historical maps of the municipality; chock full of information on pioneer settlers and settlements, schools, industries, stories and events.

The goal of this project and website is to engage seniors in capturing, preserving and promoting the culture and heritage of the Municipality of Highlands East.

Whether you are young or old, we welcome your input – photos, documents, and stories –  as we create and build on the history and culture of our communities on this website!
